Zu der Eröffnung der Ausstellung „Pu Quan (1912-1991): From Imperial Prince to Proletarian Painter“ in der Bibliothek des Centre for Asian and Transcultural Studies (CATS-Bibliothek) lädt das Institut für Kunstgeschichte Ostasiens der Universität Heidelberg ein. Die Veranstaltung findet in englischer Sprache statt.

The exhibition opens at 7PM, with a guided introduction by Prof. Sarah Fraser and Hanno Lecher. Join us to discover the extraordinary legacy of Pu Quan (1912–1991), a compelling figure in modern Chinese painting. The exhibition invites visitors to follow his inspiring journey from imperial prince to proletarian artist. Complementing Pu Quan’s works are painted fans created by Heidelberg students during a hands-on course with Hengjin Aisin Gioro, Pu Quan’s granddaughter. The exhibition is connected to the Ink & Oil project supported by the Getty “Connecting Art Histories” initiative and celebrates 15 years of support from the Heinz-Götze-Stiftung of the Chinese Art History program at Heidelberg University, Welcome by Dr. Cornelius Götze.
